"Stiller Notruf" – silent emergency call in the DEC112 app

The silent emergency call in Austria is a supplement to the barrier-free and text-based DEC112 emergency call. A silent emergency call is particularly helpful in situations of acute threat or violence because the emergency call can be triggered almost unnoticed.

The silent emergency call can be made silently by simply pressing a button in the → DEC112 app and the police can be called inconspicuously.

The difference to a voice emergency call is that important data is automatically transmitted in the background. This includes the current location, the current address of the person making the emergency call and additional personal data. It is also possible to chat with the police control centre unnoticed.
