First-aid kit

A first-aid kit suitable for treating wounds must be carried in all vehicles, including single-track vehicles. The first-aid kit must be protected against dust and dirt and packed in a robust container. The responsibility for ensuring the first-aid kit is carried in the vehicle lies with the driver/rider.

The requirements for first-aid kits set out above are the legal minimum requirements. First-aids kits do not, therefore, have to meet the ÖNORM V 5101 standard. However, it is recommended to carry a first-aid kit that complies with this standard, because this is a good indicator that it includes all the items you might need in order to deliver first aid.
